Dude Loses Last Leg Of 15 Team NFL, CBB and NHL Parlay With Oklahoma's Loss To Iowa State

ESPNA bettor at the William Hill sportsbook at the Downtown Grand Casino was one win away from turning a $5 wager into a $162,930 payday. The bettor needed a win by No. 1 Oklahoma over No. 19 Iowa State on Monday night to complete a 15-leg parlay and win William Hill’s multisport progressive jackpot.

The Cyclones wouldn’t let it happen, though. They knocked off Oklahoma 82-77 in Ames, Iowa.

The bettor had already picked 14 straight-up winners over the weekend. The selections were the New England Patriots, Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos in the NFL; Villanova, Virginia Commonwealth, Baylor, North Dakota State, Florida, San Diego State, Cal Poly, Creighton and Wisconsin in college basketball; and the San Jose Sharks in NHL action.

The $162,930 prize would have been the second largest single payout of progressive jackpot at William Hill, according to director of marketing Michael Grodskey. With Iowa State’s win, the jackpot climbs to $180,250 next week.

It was not known whether the bettor hedged the bet. If not, the bettor lost $5.

In a way this is kind of worse than losing the Powerball right? Sure the actual payout was a difference of (trying to do the math in my head right now) roughly 1 bajillion dollars…but that lottery shit is all just dumb luck. Get some random numbers from the guy at the bodega, hand him 2 bucks and see what random numbers randomly pop up. To hit 14 out of 15 teams on a progressive parlay actually takes some skill – you actually put thought until, put all your sports knowledge to use, make educated decisions about which teams will cover spreads, in not just 1 but 3 separate sports. To nail 14 out of 15 then lose the very last one is such a wind-up kick to the nutsack. All I know is if this happened to me to another team from fucking Iowa I’d be trying to figure out how to make a log in name and leaving 60 hate filled comments per blog on fucking Barstool Iowa all day every day for the next month.

Iowa ballin’.
